I escaped from Seattle, Washington, in 2002 and now live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. When I'm not taking care of my daughter, planning my next trip to Canada, or making super-8 films, I am in class at Drexel University's College of Law. In a past life I moderated a Usenet newsgroup, worked for a high-tech dot-com start-up, and lived in a cohousing community. Nowadays, weekday evenings usually find me studying at home or warming a chair at a certain bar on South Street. I spend way too many weekends in the stacks at the nation's oldest law library, right up the street from my apartment.

The Vegan and Vegetarian Recipe Index is a project of mine that I maintained for several years. Vegetarianism is a healthy, cost-effective, humane, and environmentally responsible way to live. One recent item on the vegetarian pages is a short essay that I particularly enjoyed writing: Tips for a Frugal Thanksgiving.

Completed in 2003: my great-grandmother's aunt, Sara Munro, kept an autograph book from 1883 to 1891. Inside it are signatures and notes from friends and family. I've transcribed it here.
